Fun Morning

Today I had the pleasure of Miss B for company as her mummy had to go to town and she wasn't feelimg too well, we had a great time whilst her mum was away. I had down loaded some of her favorite songs onto itunes, so we sang along to those with all the actions, did a big jigsaw, then she helped me strip the bed and had a great time hiding under the duvet. All in all a fun time, when Layla returned we had lunch then the two of them left to return home.
Up with Graham had breakfast and a wash, then took the Wonder Dog to the park and woods. He was delighted to see lots of his chums on the park and took off and had a great time playing with them. He is the smallest but doesn't let this bother him, he is in there with the big guys and gals! After a while went into the woods there he met a Labrador pup and once again it was play time.
After the girls had left I got a lasagne ready for dinner, finished changing the bed, spoke to mum on the phone she appears to be OK, when Graham arrived we took the wee fellow for a walk to get a bottle of wine.
Dinner of lasagne, salad, homemade bread was lovely.
The wine must have been strong as I fell fast asleep on the sofa and slept for ages, awoke to hear the discussion on Newnight Review of the Picasso exhibition now on in London. Bye.

We left the car and walked down from the garage to Leith links, here Ruaridh had a great time running free and playing with a Springer spaniel! Walked along to Layla's, she and Bella were at the playgroup, went to meet them and met them coming along the road, the wee one wasn't feeling well poor wee sausage, she had some Calpol and was soon bopping round. Stayed in at theirs due to this, had lunch.
Graham phoned the meeting had gone OK, said I would phone him when the car was ready. Car would be ready around 1600h arranged to meet Graham then walked over to pick up car!

Photographs

Today I was once again on the highway to work, at 0740h to be precise, another lovely morning. I had with me two albums of photos as some of my colleagues and one of the patients wanted to see photos of Miss B.
Uneventful day once again it appeared to fly by, had a phone call from mum this morning to say that her boiler was kaput but she was on to the case and her 'man' was coming this afternoon to see if he could fix it! Latest--it was the pump that was kaput, new one installed heating and hot water up and running!
Showed Miss B's photographs the patient really liked the way Joe had done them and said what a great photographer he is. The staff also liked them.
Quick finish at work, walked home got caught in the rain into George's for a few messages then home.
Cuppa, made some phone calls spoke to Layla and Bella she had just helped her mum to make risotto! and they were going to Asda.
Graham and Ruaridh arrived, wee dog delighted to see me I do miss him!
Graham made a lovely paella for dinner with brocolli salad.

Bland Workday!

Today I was back to work just doing two shifts this week today and tomorrow and two next week. Rather an uneventful day should have worked until 1730h but no-one had told me, so as I was picking up Miss B I left at 1530h.
Up at 0700h ugh! wash and breakfast then on my merry way, good to see colleagues and old patients again and the day flew by. Caught the bus and another colleague made herself known to me, we had a good chat and I hope to see her again for a coffee. Picked up Bella we had a great walk to the bus Miss B wanting to know what everything is. Got on the bus and an old friend of mine and Layla's got on she has been wanting to see Bella for nearly two years and was delighted with her. Graham and Ruaridh were at home, she got the wee dog his dinner then her mummy and daddy arrived. She played and chatted with them and I got the dinner ready tomato sauce and pasta, salad and homemade bread followed by Scotch pancakes with maple syrup, butter and jam and a big mug of coffee-lovely!
After dinner we had a good laugh with Bella she is such a character, then they left for home.
Did nothing much as I was tired to bed quite early for me. Goodnight.

Two Knits!

At the moment I have two pieces of knitting on the go, one that is mine a duffel coat for Bella, the other a cardigan for Miss B beautifully knitted by my mum which I have to finish, she finds it difficult to do this now picking up the stitches etc. so I must get on with the knitting.
Up early feeling somewhat mince this morning, anyway as the day wore on felt somewhat better, just wished this damned cold would go!
Had breakfast with Graham then he left for the studio, I had a shower and washed my hair, then got ready to take the Wonder Dog to the park and woods. Lovely day warm and sunny so we had a great walk but no Barney or Phoebe for Ruaridh to play with, however on the way out of the woods we met his wee chum Jock and they had a super play.
Down to Waitrose to get the messages then up to the Dr's. to pick up a prescription, over to the chemist, medication not in stock to go back later!
Back home phoned mum she was going to visit a friend for afternoon tea and was fine. Saw to some business, made bread, made the sauce for dinner tomorrow, made the dinner for this evening. Took Ruaridh to meet Graham off the bus, met the Springer spaniels on the park and he had a great play! Met Graham then trotted off to the chemist, made the dinner on returning home. Smoked haddock quiche, roast potatoes and peas delicious!

New Adventure.

Today we decided to take the wee fellow up Corstorphine Hill and into the woods, the sun was shining and the wind was quite warm a lovely day. Met quite a lot of people out dog walking, the birds were in full chorus and as Graham was recording their song the Wonder dog took off to have an adventure! We called and whistled to no avail, no Ruaridh, people we met were helpful and said if they found him they would send him to us. I met a woman and asked had she seen a Border terrier no said she then all of a sudden she said there he is. True enough there was the wee bisom having a great time in the woods probably chasing rabbits!in all he had been away ten minutes. Continued on our way no further surprises!e
Home had a light lunch. Up quite early this morning to see to Ruaridh, went back to bed for an hour, fell asleep. Up had breakfast then after a wash to the woods!

No Sleep

Today Ruaridh and moi got into the car and headed over to visit Layla and Bella. Layla was having her hair done this afternoon and she didn't want to take the wee one, so Ruaridh and moi were going to stay with her.
Arrived about 1115h would you believe it the rain had started, I had taken the weather forecast on the BBC site to be sun and cloud and had not taken my waterproof bah fooled again. We took the wee dog for a walk along the cycle path as far as the Trinity tunnel in the pouring rain but I think he enjoyed it he got to run about quite a bit. Back to the house and we had lunch before Layla left.
Read and played with Bella, tried to get her to have a sleep no way all attempts failed, singing, lying down, reading another book no way so we just played. Ruaridh slept lucky him!
Layla arrived home her hair is lovely, then Graham and Joe arrived, coffee and banana cake then goodbye and home we came.
Had a shower and hairwash this morning, popped into the dreaded supermarket this morning not to bad, took all the empty bottle and newspapers to the recycling bins!
Home vegetable risotto for dinner with brocolli in garlic as a side dish, lovely.
Done some blipping now having a cuppa before hitting the sack! Goodnight.

Pittencrief Park.

Today Graham awoke still feeling lousy full of a cold and with a cough so he decided to stay in bed.
Gave him his breakfast then I had mine, got ready as Layla and Miss B were coming to pick Ruaridh and moi up as we were going to spend some time in the Kingdom of Fife- Dunfermline no less. They arrived and we said cheerio to Graham piled into the car and off we go.
Uneventful journey and we arrived safe and sound at Pittencrief Park an amazing place. The sun shone we met lovely people old and young who were enjoying feeling the rays of the sun, we explored sadly the paddling pool had no water but Bella and Ruaridh had great adventures running about in it anyway. Also saw the open air theatre where we were told in the summer Brass band concerts are held.
Into the glasshouse with Miss B who was fascinated with the coins in the fountain, the lovely coloured flowers and last but not least the cactus with the very prickly spines. Two hours we spent here and we all enjoyed it even Ruaridh who managed to chase one squirrel.
Into Primark for Layla to get an outfit for her friends 'hen party' on Saturday, then into the car and home. Bella fell fast asleep even when carried into the house. Veggie bacon and tomato sandwich for lunch with a mug of coffee delicious. Bella had her bacon and beans when she woke, a wee play then they left.
Phoned mum she appears OK James and Doreen are visiting so she is out to lunch tomorrow. Attempted to sort more business out, moving a little further on this phew!
Sweet potato soup then scrambled eggs on toast for dinner with a mug of tea. Lovely!
Just going to have a cuppa then attempt some knitting. Bye.

Vet Day!

Today Ruaridh had his yearly visit to see the vet, he was due his booster injections and his health check! he appears to be fine alround and our bank balance is down somewhat! After the visit the dog and moi set off for the shore. The cycle path is a disgrace full of rubbish, today's choice bits an ironing board, a mattress and an artificial christmas tree with the box. The weather once again was warm but no sun, anyway we had a lovely walk on the beach Ruaridh met one dog that wanted to play and he had a great time. Walked to Cramond then back through Davidson Mains to get home. For some reason I felt very tired I think we have got the 'bug' again, Graham has been unwell for over a week damn!
Made the bread dough then started to try and clear the back garden, got quite a lot of the leaves picked up!
Made the bread, Graham came home cuppa then made the dinner fish and rice with a creamy tomato sauce, delicious.

Out for a walk to the park and Ravelston woods,it was so warm four women were having a game of tennis at the local tennis club! After breakfast she went with her daddy to look at the horse that wee Kirsty got on Saturday, she took Ruaridh with her, on coming back said she didn't like the horse! Christine telephoned to ask would someone send an email for her, asked her to come over about 1200h.
Had a wash, hoovered and then Christine arrived, Graham did her email and she said she would have a cuppa so we all decided to have one!

A little bit of Sunshine!

Today for the first time since we arrived at the Glen Wednesday last we have had a little bit of sunshine. We went a walk on the west beach and didn't get wet! walked the length of the beach but didn't linger as it turned quite cold. Bella fell asleep in the backpack on her daddy's back, Ruaridh appeared to enjoy himself.
Up early as the wee fellow wanted his food had my cider vinegar and honey, read yesterday's paper, then Layla and Bella made a coffee for Layla and juice for Miss B. Bella had her porridge and we read her books and she entertained us as per usual, she really is a wee character. Then when her daddy and grandpa got up I made a big fry up for breakfast-delicious.
Managed to put the washing out for a few hours-wow.
Back from the beach played with and read to Bella, had a light lunch. Relaxed.
Layla and Graham made a lovely dinner, chickpea curry and flat breads from Layla and veggie rice and prawns in oyster sauce from Graham, Lovely. Snow

Today we left Edinburgh in brilliant sunshine to travel to the Glen, with Layla and Miss B, super journey through lots of snow. Stopped at the canal on the Dalwhinnie/Spean Bridge road and walked in the deep snow there, Bella thought it was amazing. Had our picnic there, then on the road again, arrived at the Glen around 1700h not too much snow here. House was quite cold got the two stoves going and the heaters boosted, cups of tea/coffee/juice, messages away, bed linen to warm and voila we were away. Bella made herself at home and loved having the small table and creepie as 'her's'. Fish, chips and peas for dinner which we all enjoyed.
Phoned mum to let her know we had arrived OK.
Bella kept us amused most of the evening, with her chat and her play before she tumbled into bed, to sleep.
Ruaridh was very tired always is after the journey, and he only had a short walk in Ravelston woods before leaving Edinburgh, sleeping now, I am tired must go top bed. Goodnight.

Walking

Did a lot of walking today and I enjoyed it all, it was still frosty and cold but with lots of sunshine. First walk of the day took myself and Ruaridh to the park and woods, the snow was compacted and frozen so it was like being on an ice-rink on the paths but lots of fun. No Barney for Ruaridh to play with, though he did meet a Cairn terrier called Jock and they had a great play. Then as I was going to pick up Miss B from Little School later in the afternoon, I took the dog out again. He met a Border terrier puppy who was determined to play with him, I was a little concerned as he is much bigger and I didn't want the wee thing to get hurt, she held her own! Then after picking up Bella decided to walk home, she appeared to enjoy this and sat in her pram asking what this and that was. We saw two Labradors playing and she was very pleased.
Cleaned the bathroom, did some ironing and got some things ready as we head North tomorrow to the Glen.
As the family were coming for dinner made pasta al forno, salad and homemade bread, as it was all eaten I take it it was enjoyed:)
Phoned mum she appears to be OK enjoyed her choir yesterday.
Going to bed as I must get up quite early in the morning. Goodnight.

Finished

Last night it snowed and lay on the ground deep and crisp and even. Yippee! I finished the book that Layla loaned me called 'The Outcast', it is well worth the read. Although titled 'The Outcast'(singular) it struck me that there were many outcasts in the book.
Up bright and early, in fact Ruaridh decided to play in the snow at 0415h bah! but back to bed tout suite. Up and made breakfast as Graham was at the studio today, then after a quick wash Ruaridh and moi got our snow gear on and off to the park and woods. Great to be walking in the snow got to the park the bairns from the nursery were busy making huge snowballs. Dog Pasha had a play with a spaniel on the park, met Barney in the woods and had a great time, then we had a super walk through the snow.
Back home cleared the snow from the car before heading off with the wee fellow to Waitrose, did a big shop as we are hoping to head to the Highlands on Wednesday. Phoned mum she is fine going to her choirthis afternoon.
Lots to do today, changed the bed, couple of loads of washing, made bread, got the dinner ready leek quiche, roast tatties and brocolli which tasted delicious when we ate it at 1930h.
Ruaridh and moi went to meet Graham off the bus, Ruaridh very excited to see him.

Moss Stitch

Have been knitting a 'duffle' type coat for Miss B in what seems like an age, however I'm now getting on. The garment is done in moss stitch so this is taking me longer, also the wool is quite fine, enough excuses I must get it done it was supposed to be for Christmas, the Easter Bunny is around the corner:)
Up quite late though did get up with Ruaridh and for the early cuppa, then back to bed to read yesterday's Guardian and this book about life among the middle classes in the 1950's-interesting!
Shower and hairwash then breakfast before going to Corstorphine Hill with the Dog Pasha, good walk even though it was very cold and lots of frozen paths.
Back home to hot chocolate and biscuits and the above knitting.
Made one telephone call, two to go!
Graham making dinner think it may be risotto and salad, sounds good.
Layla telephoned they had a walk up Arthur's Seat and then she was going to a neighbour's for cake and a drink.
Not much to report. Bye.

Missed

Suddenly realised today that I had missed my third Blog anniversary can't belive I have been blogging for three years with just a few omissions! started to Blog on the 5th February 2006 and looking back to my Blogs then they appear far more interesting than now. Must try harder.
Up made the early morning cuppa and saw to Ruaridh who is now four years old. Back to bed to read more of a very interesting novel 'The Outcast' which we bought for Layla for Christmas! Up, porridge and toast for breakfast, then after a wash got ready to take the Dog Pasha down to the shore. Layla telephoned and she said her and Bella would meet us at the shore after she had done her shopping.
Off we set along the cycle path it was very cold and we knew it would be a lot colder at the shore, however with the wind blowing from the North it was bloody freezing when we got there:)
Layla and Bella arrived and off we set, Bella had brought her pram and insisted on pushing same. She loved watching the waves and the seagulls floating on them going up and down. Had a very cold walk, and so cold we couldn't sit out at the cafe at Cramond, poor Bella never got her biscuit!
Ruaridh had a great run around, no great plays though!
Back to ours were we all had some lunch. Then Layla and Bella left they are going out to friends this evening.
Made bread dough, Graham making dinner pasta and tomato sauce hopefully with some form of salad! then I will do the bread.
Hopefully will watch BBC2 tonight 'Iran and the West'. Bye.

Old Railway Track

Today Ruaridh and moi jumped into the car after de-icing it and went over to the family's house. Bella was very busy painting, spent some time drawing and putting 'things' into the oven on her cooker so that they would be ready when we returned from our walk.
After a cup of coffee we set off to walk on the cycle path which used to be the old railway track. Bella took her dolly in the pram enough said, we were backwards, forwards, sideways but had a lovely walk in the sunshine. Ruaridh enjoys this walk as he can run free and he gets different 'smells'.
Back for lunch which we all enjoyed, then into the car to go and get Miss B some new underwear, Ruaridh and Bella are a picture as they sit in the back, Bella fell asleep and the dog put his head on her hand.
Back at the house we had fun playing then daddy and grandpa arrived, more fun. Had dinner has we were baby sitting whilst Joe and Layla went to a movie.
Bella is a joy kissed her mum and dad goodbye gave a big wave then she sat and watched 'Miffy' with grandpa, then some stories. Got her ready for bed when the eyes started to be rubbed, grandpa walked her up the stairs, she cleaned her teeth, three more stories then into her little bed. First time we have put her to sleep in her 'bed'. Goodnight kisses then I laid down with her and she was fast asleep in ten minutes.
Joe and Layla enjoyed the movie. We drove home and to bed. Bye.

Fun time.

Met Miss B from the 'little school' today, lovely to be able to do this and today we hd a fun time going down to meet her mummy. She was happy to see me and after a cuddle and kiss we left and set off down the road. On the way we had to stop so that she could have a drink and some grapes, as she was tired I carried her part of the way, when walking she wants to know about everything at her height in the shop windows! Also she saw a couple having a kiss and in a loud voice demanded to know 'what's that! Met Layla in the cafe then to our house.
Graham and Joe came and we enjoyed veggie lasagne, salad and homemade bread for dinner. Then Bella entertained us for an hour, can't go into everything here, needless to say she and Ruaridh are good chums!

Wash, then Ruaridh and moi set off to walk in the park and woods, he loved the snow, met his chum Barney they played for ages. Then met his other chums Bonnie and Leo in the park, they all had a great time rolling and romping in the snow.

Started to clean the bedroom, hate cleaning but needs must, always find loads of papers that need destroying or sorting, oh well.
Had lunch then continued with the bedroom finished it, went down to meet Graham off the bus, blowing a blizzard. Met the two Springers in the park, Ruaridh had a great time playing with them, their owner and her son were also having fun in the snow! Graham got off the bus and we walked home.
Phoned mum she managed out for lunch today despite the snow!
Fish and chips with peas for dinner delicious. Going to do the dishes then settle down to watch on Channel4 'Backstairs Billy: The Queen Mother's Butler'. Bye.
