Allotment Time.

Today I went over quite early to see Layla and Bella, to be with Bella as her mummy had an appointment to have a facial and a back massage, drove over with Graham and Ruaridh as we hadthings to drop off at the studio from Wednesday evening!
Spent a varied morning with Bella, set of for a walk, at the end of the street Bella decided she didn't want to go. We turned back and played in the garden, then it got very cold so we went indoors and played with bricks and then read stories.
Layla returned having enjoyed her experience. We had lunch then walked over to the allotment, spent time with Bella, did some weeding and watering, whilst Layla was planting some tatties and beetroot.
As it was getting late walked back to Layla's, to wait for Graham as we were going to Asda.
Graham and Joe arrived and we stayed for a wee while to wish the family happy holiday, as they are away on holiday tomorrow. We should be moving in to theirs as John H is hopefully coming down to do the shower at ours! Went to Asda got a few messages, then when we got home late John phoned to say he couldn't come until Sunday!
Had pasta and tomato sauce with salad for dinner.
Very tired so to bed. Goodnight.

Doing many things day!

That was today. Not up to early as Graham was working from home this morning and then going to Glasgow for Joe's talk on blipfoto at the Apple Store. Bella was coming to see me as her mum had a meeting this evening.
Up with Ruaridh, then back to bed for a wee while before getting up and having breakfast, then a wash. Ruaridh and moi then jumped into the car over to 'Pets at Home' to get the Wonder Dog his food, we then went down to the shore and had a super walk on the beach, met some lovely dogs for Ruaridh to play with nice owners to chat to. Then on to Homebase to buy gardening things before going home to wait for the girls, who had been at playgroup.
They arrived and we had lunch and a chat, Bella was tired so we sat and read some books then eventually she had a nap. When she awoke Layla left for work, Bella and moi watched some Charlie and Lola, love this programme. Then Bella decided she was going to paint whilst I made fish and rice for our dinner. We both enjoyed this and then we did some hairdressing and more painting till Layla came.
Dinner for her then about 2115h Graham and Joe arrived -- dinner for them gosh three servings this evening.
Late when I phoned mum she is OK. Then to bed. Goodnight.

'Unstaged'

This evening Layla, Bella and moi put on our glad rags well, rags anyway and trotted off to the prizegiving for the blipfoto event at Inspace. It was very good and so well attended, good to see people again and congrats to the winners Hope and OMG It's Natalie, well done girls/ladies. Also congrats to the runners up and to all who organised the event.
All the new shower stuff was delivered by Bathstore at 0930h this morning-good service! Then after a wash Ruaridh and moi set off for the woods, another lovely walk as no-one in the woods, on the way down met a couple of women and their dogs and Ruaridh had a play.
Did some ironing as waiting for Layla and Bella to arrive, then had my lunch before having a shower and washing my hair.
The girls arrived and Bella was fast asleep, however she quickly awoke and we played some games and read a few books before taking Ruaridh a walk to the park and woods.
When we got back to the house we all had soup before leaving Ruaridh and heading off to Inspace for the Unstaged events, as above.
Graham, Joe went out for dinner so Layla dropped me off and as I was starving had toast and a cuppa, before having fried egg and chips with bread for chip butties!
Graham home and then to bed. Goodnight.

Clear Out!

As we are supposed to be getting a new shower in next week ?? I had to clean the bedrooms today as one of them is going to house from tomorrow the new shower, the other room is for John H if he ever appears-fingers crossed.
As I was cleaning I also managed to have a 'clear out' of things that we will never use again and clothes that have not seen the light of day for years:) Also lovely to find old letters, drawings that Layla did as a child and photos, some brought back amazing memories others I got rid of! Somehow managed to duplicate lots of photo's!
Also found all my pottery gear, maybe start again when we move back to the Glen! Would love to, being quite or so remote though I would have to buy my own equipment-thought!
A big bag of clothes is waiting for the Heart Foundation to collect on Thursday.
Took Ruaridh to the woods another lovely walk, met the retired GP and his wife he talks the talk!
Back home hung my washing out for the first time in two years, we have purchased a retractable washing line £10 at B&Q looks good.
Made dough for bread, had lunch-paella nan bread and some lettuce lovely.
Made the bread. Then took Ruaridh for his evening constitutional, lots of children playing in the woods.
Layla phoned she had a tale to tell that made me smile.
Graham home late had a bread roll and a cuppa, then I made asparagus risotto for dinner with salad delicious.
Phoned mum she is fine appears to be very buoyant at the moment.
Made asparagus soup with the asparagus left over. Bye.

Asparagus!

The English asparagus was in Waitrose today, the first I have seen from the UK this year. Love it and as the season here in the UK only lasts for about 6/8 weeks one has to make the most of it-I never tire of eating it. Tried to grow it once but no success waited two/three years before having to abandon it! Sad.
Had an appointment this morning so up bright and early, shower and hairwash, before breakfast! Then afterwards took the Wonder Dog down to the shore and the beach, what a great time he had lots of dogs to play with and skimming stones to be run after in the sea, Nirvana for a dog.
Then down to Waitrose to get the messages, this is where I saw the asparagus.
Along to buy a powered screwdriver at Homebase no help from the assistants there. A guy who was also waiting for help gave me some advice and an iPhone call to Graham and I hope I bought the right one!! Also bought a strimmer as the (small) front lawn is being to look jungle like.
Home again, home again much to Ruaridh's delight, put the messages away then had lunch before half listening to the afternoon play on Radio 4 and cleaning the lounge.
Made the dough for pizza's then took Ruaridh to the woods, spoke to Layla she bought Bella some Lego today in a second hand shop.
Graham arrived home, cuppa then I made the pizza's they tasted delicious for dinner I had coleslaw with mine.
Spoke to mum, Aunty Emily's funeral went off OK with a nice service, the buffet afterwards was c--p!
Going to phone Lena. Bye.

Bluebells!

Had a lie in this morning, up with the wee fellow then back to bed awoke ay 1000h to an early cuppa made by Graham, read for a while then up. Small fry up for breakfast, then a wash and as Graham was busy took Ruaridh to the park and woods.
Rainy morning the mist circled the city, the wild garlic was very pungent, a knocking came out of one of the bird houses and bluebells had started to appear!
Lovely walk met no-one, back home started to clear a cupboard as hopefully John H will be down the first week in May to put a new shower in. You have to go in the cupboard to get to the stop cock to turn the water off!!
Done blipping and blogging----Graham making a delicious smelling soup for dinner, followed by a sandwich of sorts.
Saw there was a programme on BBC4 last night about The Guinea Club!-Second World War pilots who hated death. Sue my buddy and moi worked years later at the hospital where Plastic Surgeom Archibald M

Magic-Pure - Magic

This afternoon Grandpa, Bella and moi set off on a bus on an amazing adventure, we travelled up hill and down dale to the place where the sheep graze and the lambs play. There on the bus in magic and wonderment Grandpa, Bella and moi watched a puppet show about Pelle's New Suit and his adventures to acquire it.
We sang songs and watched a beautiful moon rise from the horizon and sink again.
Superb refreshments after the show and lots of happy children and those who are young at heart:)
We picked Bella up and left Ruaridh with Layla and she took him to the allotment, we picked them up on the way home, Bella happy to see mum and Ruaridh happy to see us though he appeared to have enjoyed himself.
We dropped them off at their house and trundled home. Phoned mum she had been to a coffee morning and out for lunch so seemed happy!
Veggie paella for dinner then settled down to watch the Roman Polanski film 'The Pianist'
brilliant. To bed Goodnight.

Rainy afternoon!

Lunchtime put the Wonder Dog into the car and off we go to visit Layla and Bella the idea being that we would go to the allotment and spend the afternoon there. I drove to their house no-one at home phoned Layla apparently I had said I would be over later and they were out shopping! Went to meet them and you guess the rain started and it was freezing cold.
Decided not to attempt a visit to said allotment, had lunch lovely bagels made by Layla and Bella. Then Bella and moi made a pom pom for her new tammy, we made it on a special tool that Layla had, next one will be done with two pieces of cardboard-the way I made them at school-easier!
Then we planted pumpkin and cucumber seeds in the propagators, read lots of stories, then Grandpa and Joe arrived.
We were staying with Bella as Joe and Layla were going out for dinner. Once they had left Bella watched a Charlie and Lola film with Grandpa and Ruaridh, whilst I made dinner.
Lovely dinner of pasta and pesto with fresh salad and homemade bread. We then watched 'Where the Wild Thing's are, then supper, clean teeth and one story and with in minutes the wee one was fast asleep!
Home around 0030h hungry even though we had bagels and tea at the family's:) so we had tea and cheese on toast-lovely. Then to bed Goodnight/Good morning.

Met up with Miss B and her scooter today, we had a great time, I had to push her over the bumpy bits but can she go on the smooth! Pushed her up the hill we came to, and where she had to do a pee and put her cardigan on as it was very cold. Caught the bus and met Grandpa outside our house.
Not a too busy day had to wait for the new booster seat to arrive for Bella, the delivery company were excellent said they would deliver between 1348h-1448h, sure enough the guy was there at 1350h. Made dinner for tonight Fennel au Gratin, a favorite of Layla's as Joe is away on business we can have this (he doesn't like it apparently).

Car clean --the start!

As our car was more than 'manky', today was the day I started the big clean! Managed to do the upholstery and the floor took me ages as it was full of hairs from the Wonder Dog, got it looking quite reasonable. Must do the doors and dash maybe Thursday.
Up with Ruaridh fed him and let him out, then got our breakfast ready. Graham left or the studio I had a wash then took Ruaridh to the woods, rather solitary walk but I like it that way very peaceful. Spoke to mum she is fine still awaiting the roofer!

Attacking the garden!

Actually the part I did was much easier than I had thought, managed to get almost 2/3 of the earth turned over ready for the Hosta that should be arriving in seven days. Always find it difficult to start in the garden but once I have started enjoy doing it.
Awoke to the pitter, patter of the rain so after I had seen to the Wonder Dog I jumped back into bed and sleep. Graham made the morning cuppa for the second morning in a row-delicious. Read most of yesterday's Guardian then up and made the porridge for breakfast which tasted good.
Had a wash then once again to Corstorphine Hill with Ruaridh, the rain had stopped uneventful walk.
Back home started the garden, worked for about an hour then had a peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwich with a cuppa.
Spoke to Layla they are all fine, Bella making playdough!
Having soup and a surprise sandwich for dinner.
Going to watch Louis Theroux at 2100h on BBC2 on 'Medicated Kids' in America. Should be interesting!
Also got the movie 'The Pianist to watch. Bye.

Tammy!

Finished knitting the third tammy I have made for Miss B. Had to make her another one when we lost one at 'Going on a Bear Hunt' then when Sue, Amber and Safia were here at the beginning of February bought some wool to make a tammy to match her brown coat. Now Spring so hopefully she will be able to wear it in Autumn/Winter.
Had a lie in today, as is my want up with the Wonder dog to feed him and let him roam in the garden. Back to bed slept/dozed till Graham arrived with the early cuppa! Read for a wee while, then up as I had to catch the post and get the paper, fry up for breakfast tasted delicious, wash, then to Corstorphine Hill for the Wonder Dog's constitutional. Good walk sunny, cold wind.

Poorly Bella

Got an early call from Layla to say Bella was unwell, she decided to phone for a Dr's appointment. After a wee while I phoned to see how she was no reply, then as Layla phoned me poor Bella started to vomit. Decided to go over earlier than planned to see if I could be of any help.
Wash, breakfast then into car with Graham and the Wonder Dog, walked from the studio to the family's house poor wee Bella looked a wee bit washed out.
However we watched some children's programmes on TV then Bella felt hungry, she ate some crackers and had a fruit lolly. We then went into the garden and played for a wee while still in the PJ's, and read some books.
Had coffee and shared a muffin with Bella and Ruaridh. Then we had lunch, saw the wee cat rescued that had managed to climb onto the chimney pots! A wee bit more CBeebies, then Bella fell fast asleep on the sofa.
I sat in the garden and did my knitting. Ruaridh really enjoyed sitting in the sun in the garden.
Layla and me had a good laugh at some of the photo's on knitting patterns from the 1950's especially the males.
Graham came and Layla took him and Bella to Lidl's to buy Bella's gardening tools. We then left and came home via Asda.
Salmon in cream sauce and pasta with salad and homemade bread for dinner.
Still quiet in the sky though flights are slowly resuming. Catching up on blog and blip. Bye.

Quiet Skies

Up early with Graham this morning, as he had a meeting! Had breakfast then got the bread dough ready before retiring to the bathroom to have a shower and wash my hair.
Then got myself and the Wonder Dog ready and had a lovely walk in the woods, so quiet and peaceful, lots of daffodils and buds sprouting into leaves the weather was warm!
Back home made the bread, dealt with the washing then had lunch, lovely freshly baked roll with peanut butter and strawberry jam and a big cuppa.
Decided to head down to Waitrose as I needed some messages there, so quiet in the sky no aeroplanes flying in Scottish airspace due to the volcanic ash that is being spewed out by a volcano in Iceland very strange. As reported it can cause serious trouble to the engines of the plane.
Went to pick Graham up as he was tired after his long walk this morning.
Home took the wee dog for a walk in the woods then We all went to the dreaded supermarket to get some wine.
Made leek quiche for dinner with potatoes and broccoli lovely.

After spending a lovely two days with the Memsahib in the Red Rose County, Layla, Bella and moi headed North today back to the city.
We had a lovely time and the weather was warm and sunny, Bella had a super time especially meeting up with her chum Rambo the donkey from last summer! Also lots of fun on the little train, trampolines and the rides on the pier brilliant!
The Memsahib took us out for dinner last night to Pizza Express and we all enjoyed it.
This morning we went down to the prom, Bella had fun on the trampolines and the rides on the pier. Then back for lunch courtesy of Layla, lovely salad sandwiches for us eggy bread and veggie bacon for Bella.
Goodbyes were said then we left to get the train to Preston. In Preston quick visit to Primark too hot, to a cafe for fresh orange juice then to the station to get the train home!
OK journey apart from a rather large man who appeared determined to take over half of the table we sat at! Bella slept for a big part of the journey LLP and moi dozed:)
Joe met the train the family went home and I jumped a bus.
Home pasta and tomato sauce with prawns and salad for dinner--lovely.
Catching up blipping and blogging. Then to bed. Goodnight.

Tattie scones

We had company for breakfast this morning as Layla and Bella stayed overnight. I made some tattie scones on Friday as I know Bella loves them for her breakfast, sure enough she had two large ones this morning for her breakfast and baked beans.
After breakfast we played for a wee while in the house before getting ready and going to the play park, Bella held Ruaridh's lead all the way and she did very well! At the park she got on her scooter and scooted along. She went on most of the things at the playpark whilst The Wonder Dog sat with Layla, then Graham came along.
We then went a walk in the woods much hilarity as we pushed Bella on her scooter up the hills, then I hung onto her as she went like the clappers down the hills, good to laugh!
Layla and Bella left and I had some lunch. Then a walk through the woods (again) to homebase to try and get a fixture for our tap, bought one no joy.
Purchased our new shower enclosure today as John H is coming down to fix it first week in May!
Graham made minestrone soup for dinner followed by tinned salmon sandwiches lovely.
Done some knitting now to bed. Goodnight.
No blog for a few days as I am heading down to the Red Rose County to visit the memsahib!

Beach Bums

Today the Wonder dog and I left for the beach, we had a super walk in quite warm weather, lots of stone throwing for Ruaridh and yep once again a lost lead, damn! Only found out about the lead when we were approaching the car to leave, to far to walk back to look for it, liked that lead too bought it on a trip to Scarborough.

The Party's Over!

Took the Wonder Dog for a walk in his favorite woods today! Glad to see that at least the garbage had been collected in to a couple of places, but still in the woods. All the pretty balloons had been burst party time over ? Phoned the council re the mess, after a bit of a debate the woman said she had taken all the details down and someone would be along to move the garbage, we shall see how long it takes.
Back home finished cleaning the windows and cleaned the bathroom. Then had lunch before attacking a pile of ironing!! Phoned mum who had phoned her insurance re the wall that fell down, no joy re payment will attempt to do something on Monday when we are in the Red Rose county. Spoke to Layla they had a lovely holiday and appeared to have really enjoyed same, they come back to the city tomorrow.
Got started on Bella's new hat. Then took Ruaridh to the woods we had a lovely walk.
Graham made dinner veggie omelette, chips and peas with bread tasted rather good.
Watched a fascinating movie by a German Director called 'The White Ribbon' well worth watching, oh yes we hve joined 'Love Films' again so no doubt you wil be hearing a lot more about the movies we watch.

Party Time

Went for our morning constitutional in Ravelston Woods today and in a clearing walked into party time! All different coloured balloons attached to trees spoke of some celebration. That is until one looked on the ground a Sainsbury's trolley, broken bottles, cans, food and packaging spread over a wide area. I'm all for the young having fun but please clean up afterwards, not on the night but the day after, on this occasion not to be. When Ruaridh and moi went for our evening stroll the litter had been spread over a larger area!!
On the home front made a soda bread and the white bread, did some gardening as it was warm and sunny in the garden. Cleaned some windows then had lunch. Phoned mum she appears to be OK, the man came re the tiles and is going to do the work.
Took Ruaridh for his evening walk.

Easter Egg Day

Dragons, hot cross buns and an Easter egg treasure hunt around the garden were the order of the morning! Up early in the hope that the Easter Bunny would arrive sometime today, early morning cuppa's for Layla, Graham and moi and juice for Bella.
Waiting for Joe to arise, when lo and behold what should appear in the sitting-room stove but a Dragon, the suspense was unbearable as we tried to figure out how he got there! Then we had breakfast under the Easter tree decorated with glittery eggs and daffodils on the table from the garden. The hot cross buns made by Layla were delicious I think I had two.
The treasure hunt around the garden was amazing the Easter Bunny had done its job well!
Graham and Joe took Ruaridh on the long trek through the woods, whilst Layla, Bella and moi had a lovely time down at the river. Drawing on a wee beach, then throwing stones into the river, the sun was shining down-idyllic.

Joe made a delicious dinner pasta with a chilli sauce, salad and bread lovely.
Another dozy evening then to bed. Goodnight.

The family arrived late this afternoon with Miss B driving the car up the track-sat on her daddy's knee-of course!! Lovely to see them all, they had breakfast with Granny K and family from London then had a good journey to 'Up North'.

Up fairly early as Graham wanted to carry on sawing the logs, which he did after breakfast.
After a wash I cleaned the stairs, did some ironing and then got the burger buns dough ready!
Ruaridh didn't need a walk as he played with his new wee chum Misty for most of the morning. She is only a pup and exhausts him!!
I helped Stack some of the logs in the shed.
Miss B had her bath and was so bexcited at being 'Up North' after I had read to her she couldn't/ wouldn't settle and go to sleep. Eventually she did for her mummy.
Pleasant evening chatting and catching up. To bed tired. Goodnight.

Skye Trip

Ruaridh refused point blank to eat the 'treat' worm tablet we had bought him this morning, he ate all the food around it then carefully lifted it out of his bowl onto the kitchen floor! So we had to get him his usual one also Advantix for the inhibiting of tics and fleas, we had to go to Broadford on the Misty Isle.
Had breakfast then I had a wash and we set off, took Ruaridh into the woods on the way up the hill, about 15cms snow still lying there! Good walk on the deep wet and even snow! The wee fellow enjoyed it, then into the car and away.
Got to Skye went to get messages at the co-op, then to the vets. Went down to the beach at Lower Breakish couldn't stay long as the squalls of rain/snow were heavy, managed a good walk though.
Into Kyle two 'hotties' and a spade then home.
Spoke to Layla she and Bella had a lovely time at the allotment, they come up here tomorrow with Joe.
