Two weeks without a Blog!
Suddenly realised as I awoke this morning in my cozy bed at the cottage I hadn't 'blogged' for two weeks.
The weekend of the 1 & 2 Sept was spent in Aberdeenshire at a retirement party for our good chum Liz. The whole family came and we all had a great time meeting up with folks again.
Unfortunately when we got back to Edinburgh on the Sunday evening the wee dog was really ill, not eating and a fever. He had sips of water and a wee bit of pasta. Monday he had a quiet day, girls came for lunch?then we walked to meet Graham who had been on Glasgow.
Tuesday he appeared to be a wee bit better,I went to meet Bella and we got the bus home. Family for dinner.
Wednesday was spent at the allotment, got a lot done. However poor Ruaridh started to vomit and shake not eating again, also had a rash on his back. Got an appointment with the vet--he gave him a good examination and a jag to sto the vomiting and put him on a two week course of antibiotics for the skin infection. Also a diet of fish and rice for two days!
Went out to meet the girls from work for a drink and eats good evening!
Thurday -Wonder Dog look streamlined after his vomiting yesterday and Nil By Mouth until today!
I had an appointment at the dentist today, was going to leave the Wonder Dog resting, no way, as soon as he heard me getting ready down the stairs he came!
Afterwards we went to the beach -- no stone or shell throwing, no treats and a rice and fish diet had the poor dog wondering!!
I think he is now feeling quite 'perky':)
Bella and her mum popped in for lunch and to see Ruaridh.
Another day of fish/rice diet tomorrow then hopefully back to his normal fare!
Friday Wonder Dog much improved back to normal diet tomorrow --fingers crossed:)
Saturday Breakfast in bed made by moi-- then took the Wonder Dog and ourselves for a two hour walk down to Stockbridge and back. Down there bought knitting wool for a cardigan for Miss B and visited the lavatory. Watched Montalbano on BBC 4 the warmth of Sicily makes me feel good!
Sunday Breakfast in bed--huevos rancheros with the tortillas we made last night and a mug of fresh coffee--yummy!
Decided to start clearing the back garden of its many weeds this afternoon. Later on a wee Robin came to join me, not a bit afraid as it searched the mown grass for insects.
Flew onto the wall when the nosey Wonder Dog came out to join me.
As Robins are known to be territorial hope it stays for a while.
Monday normality reigns once more, with the Wonder Dog running into the sea after small stones and attempting to bring out rocks as big as his head!
Lovely walk along the beach this morning quite warm though not many folks out and about!
Visited the supermarket then home.
Listened to Radio 4 1345h 'The Oracle of Delphi' interesting!
The afternoon play 'Nuclear Reactions' was excellent.
I also managed to do quite a lot of knitting whilst listening:)
Tuesday The morning constitutional.
Didn't meet another soul--the woods were peaceful!
Lots of work done today--more gardening!
Listened to the afternoon play 'Brief Lives' on BBC Radio 4 Very funny!
Missed 'The History of the Future' today it was about The Druids might catch it on iPlayer.
Thursday Had lunch with Jane at The Filmhouse, then met G at Waterstones before going home packing the car and leaving for the Glen. Arrived at the cottage, Christien had the stove on G&T dinner, then an early night with my new book.
Friday Dreich, down to the beach even if the wind was howling and the rain stung our faces. Ruaridh was in his element chasing leaves and getting stones out of the sea.
Saturday G decided he would like some Granary bread so today I made some.
After our walk on the village beach we returned home to eat the bread with cheese-- needless to say there is only half a loaf left:)
'Montalbano' night tonight i.e. relax in Sicily with a glass of red.
Sunday A day of rain and sun, Graham did a lot of strimming and split some logs. I made bread, did some knitting Christine came over and stayed to dinner. Home tomorrow.
Monday Left the Glen for
the city. The rain was bucketing down for most of the journey!
Had a great weekend, weather awful, reading and knitting good, sleeps and food great:)
Arrived home to the news that mum had a very bad fall, spoke to Ann and paramedic-- Mum to hospital. No bones broken severe bruising due in the main to her being on Warfarin. Huge egg shaped lump on her head. Poor mum, hospital for 48 hrs. I am heading down on Wednesday. Ann is doing a sterling job.
Tuesday got my camera back, then picked up Bella, home on the bus. Family here for dinner. Mum appears to be fairly settled if all goes well home tomorrow Wednesday.
Wednesday Shower, hairwash then took Ruaridh to the shore at Newhaven. To Asda to get messages for Graham whilst I'm in the Red Rose County.
To see the girls for lunch and leave Ruaridh there. G will pick him up later.
Off to get my train. Good journey without too many hiccoughs. Poor memsahib looks like she has done 10 rounds in a boxing ring!
