Do Nothing Type of Day!

Or almost nothing! Really bad at doing my Blog recently, should at least attempt to do it on days that matter!! Tuesday 2 October--collected Miss B who had a great time playing with her mum's 'old' jewellery, pairing up the earrings. Family for dinner. Wednesday 3 October Hairdresser's to have my hair cut and eyebrows tweaked. Friday 5 October Met the girls 'up town' for lunch, started off at The Dovecot no joy. Went to The Palmyra lovely lunch served by delightful waiters. Sunday 7 October My Birthday started with breakfast in bed courtesy of G, lots of greetings, Family Blogs sing- song on Skype, then the memsahib's vocal chords as strong as ever over the phone. A car not starting--a lovely walk in brilliant sunshine to a surprise afternoon tea at The Howard Hotel The flower on the table matched Miss B's Dress and lots of lovely presents opened. We then went to Bellaburg and later had a delicious dinner with a lovely cake with one candle. Thanks to all for a super DAY:) Monday 8 October Got a telephone call from G this morning to see if the car was starting (as he required a lift home this p.m).--it wasn't. Anyway this afternoon I tried it again and it decided to live! The sun was shining decided to leave the housework, so Ruaridh and I set off first to have a walk along Newhaven shore then pick up G. What a lovely surprise I got when I saw inside the big package that had to be brought home--amazing hand printed Japanese Paper for my book binding. Now I will have to update my skills:) Wednesday 10 October Lovely sunny day Ruaridh and me had a lovely walk along the shore and beach, lots of shell throwing and munching! Met a woman who is on holiday from British Columbia, had an interesting chat. She was writing up a diary so told her about blipfoto.com. Lovely to talk with her and discuss places where I once lived! just a chance meeting. Lunch with the girls Bella's friend was there to play, just settling to watch 'Boardwalk Empire'. Thursday 11 October Had lunch and a cinema date with some chums today--saw the French film'Untouchable' excellent movie--well worth a visit to the cinema! Friday 12 October Ruaridh and me had a great walk along the beach even though it was flooded in parts due to the huge amount of rain that fell overnight. Over to have lunch with the girls, quick visit to the allotment to get the tomatoes (which today are roasting in the oven), home, shower and hairwash and out with Graham to 'Cafe Fish' to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Lovely food, wine, port and espresso. Not a thing we normally do but what the hell:) A lovely evening.
BTW Graham and me climbed this hill in 1998 when we visited Syria!

Catching up Day

Today was a warm, windy, sunny day and I started to catch up after the second visit in a week to visit the memsahib in the Red Rose County. This visit was with Layla and Bella and was planned before mum had her fall. We left Edinburgh on Friday on the 0853h train and had a good journey to the Red Rose County, Layla and I were starving and had our bacon roll with a coffee around 1045h. Arrived at mum's she was looking better sat up in the kitchen having her lunch. We stayed and had a chat with Anne, then Layla trotted off to get messages. Bella and I played the memsahib rested. Had a good time especially on the pier with Miss B she is now getting too big for some of the rides! and can she zoom around in the bumper cars. Mum started to improve whilst we were there just the usual hiccoughs kicking in now and then!! Lovely food courtesy of Layla, my contribution was pancakes (crepes) for breakfast! Layla and me also enjoyed a glass or two of Red when mum and the wee one were in sleepy land! Also managed to watch 'Montalbano' on Saturday evening as I said before an easy watch. Home on Sunday-- good journey, tired to bed early

Busy Times

Arrived in The Red Rose County last night around 1930h as the memsahib had taken a bad fall on Monday. Not a bad night awoke and started to get things organised. The memsahib wishes to stay in her own home so things will have to be set in motion to allow her to do so. She is very badly bruised looks like she has done 10 rounds in a boxing ring, this is due to the warfarin she was put on after a mini-stroke. A busy time I left on Saturday, one of her good friends Irene was sitting with her, Ann her friend and carer has uppted her support for the meantime -- so we will have to monitor how things go. G had a lovely fish paella for my dinner settled to watch 'Montalbano' on BBC 4 and easy watch!
