Peace shattered

Attempting to live a peaceful life don't come easy!! Our evening meal last pm was interupted by an urgent call from my 86 year old mothers helpline to say there was a bogus caller in her house and could I "pop round". As I live 200 miles away not an easy thing to do. As it turned out my mother had been conned into giving this man £40. and was rightly upset and angry. Family breathed a sigh of relief it was £40 and that no attack or intimidation occured. Is it to be that elderly people can't have a life now after dark?
