Fun day

Up with the Wonder Dog at 0745h,fed him and let him into the garden. Back to bed for half an hour then up as I wanted to make the pancakes that I had started to make on Tuesday! made lots and they tasted delicious for the batter having been left. Graham left after breakfast for the studio, I had a wash then got ready to take Ruaridh over to the allotment.
Got the wee fellow into the car then off we went. Calling first at Waitrose to get one or two messages, then we called at the studio to leave Graham's camera for him. Parked the car at the family's then set off to meet Layla and Bella at the Links, they had been to a Real Nappy (ie terry nappies) support group as that is what Miss B wore. Layla said it was well attended which is good.
Over the links to the allotment in the sun arrived and had a shower of rain. Arrived to find four raspberries they tasted delicious, did what needed doing then left for Layla's, first going to pick up her Figaro car that had been for its MOT. Ruaridh as per usual had a great time sniffing around the allotments.
Lovely potato and courgette soup for lunch with crackers. Played with Miss B, gave her the present from Lena she liked it, went into the garden played on the trampoline, in the sandpit and at football. Then grandpa came, he gave Bella her new crayons and holiday money then we said goodbye and have a super holiday, they go down to mum's on Friday for a week and mum comes up here.
Baked potatoes with cheese, tuna in mayo and baked beans for dinner. Spoke to mum she is looking forward to seeing the family, then coming up here.

No blog yesterday think I was too tired. Had a good day up and about took Ruaridh to the park and Ravelston woods he was delighted as he has not been there for quite a while. Met up with one or two of his doggie friends not too much of a play but he enjoyed it.
Back home washed the kitchen floor and hoovered the lounge, did some washing, got the dinner ready as the family were coming for dinner, swept the garden out. Spoke to mum she is fine up here on Sunday booked her journey care!
Layla and Bella arrived as I was having my lunch, Bella full of beans as per usual. She had brought her tricycle first she cycled to the shoe shop but nothing there for her. She then went to meet her grandpa or bampa as she calls him off the bus via the park. She went on the swings and seesaw, Ruaridh played with a couple of dogs then home.
Joe arrived and we had dinner courgette risotto with broad beans from the allotment prepared by Miss B, salad mainly from the allotment and homemade bread-delicious. Bella entertained us all then they left for home. To bed. Goodnight.
Up early this morning as I was going to the town to meet my chum Lena for lunch, my treat for her special Birthday that was in April! Ruaridh went away in the car with Graham to the office.
Had a shower then went to pick up my Birkenstock sandals that were in for repair, also got Miss B some crayons for her holiday.
Met up with Lena away to Cafe Andaluz for lunch lovely food, delicious wine and great company, in fact we were there for four hours! Down to Stockbridge for a walk, pot of tea and a biscuit in

Layla cleared a lot of debris and cut a shrub/tree down that was growing at the side of the greenhouse. As she was doing this she noticed a tree hanging over her shed with fruit on it, she thought maybe plums I thought maybe damsons we will see. Bella and moi planted the leeks out and a good job she made of it. Ruaridh roamed the allotments searching for ? what!
Back via Lidls Bella got a croissant and by the time we got home she was fast asleep, she slept for a wee while then we had lunch homemade hummus and crackers lovely. Graham came over and we stayed a wee while before heading to Asda to get some messages.

Wedding Yeterday!

Yesterday Saturday we went to the wedding of Jamie and Laura in Fife and what a lovely occasion it was, the sun shone and great to meet up with dear old friends and new ones! The whole day was joyful, late to bed on friday evening finishing Bella's duffel coat, but up bright and early on Saturday morning, shower, breakfast then the family arrived to pick me up.
Good journey to Fife arrived at the church a lovely one by the way, and lovely to see old friends Bella had a sleep on the way so was bright and breezy when we arrived. Into the church for the wedding service, the sun shone through the windows and illuminated all. After the service we went to this byre (forget the name) an amazing venue looking out to the sea. Drink and canapes, a quartet playing in the corner lovely, Bella was delighted. Photos, more drinks, chat, looking at the moo cows what the hell it was great.
Sat down to our meal before we ate, the speeches, Brides Dad, Groom and Best Man gave good and humorous speeches. Then the eats. Children really well catered for humus, carrot sticks and bread for eats, jelly beans, a windmill and book for play! Bella loved it. Food was fine with a rather nice Spanish red to swill it down. The band arrived for the evening and soon Bella and moi were up dancing she loves to do a twirl! In between times we went to visit the cows. Left about 2200h Layla drove us home, what a special day!
Crashed out last night exhausted, awoke this morning about 0900h phoned Graham at the Glen he is coming down today leaving early. Made a cuppa took it back to bed enjoyed same. Spoke to Layla they are all OK and enjoyed the wedding. Up made my breakfast, had a wash then over to the dreaded supermarket to get some messages. Made bread, cleaned the bathroom then Graham and the wee fellow were here. Lovely to see them both, Ruaridh as per usual going a wee bit crazy!

Out for Dinner

Tonight Joe, Layla, Bella and moi went out for dinner at Porto & Fi, had fish goujons with curly fries served in a bucket, delicious. Thanks for dinner guys it was lovely.
As Graham and the Wonder Dog are away in the N/W with the car, I bused it to the hairdresser's, going to get my hair done as I am going to a big wedding in Fife on Saturday, sadly Graham won't be able to make it. However I am going with the family and am looking forward to same. Have known the groom's parent for many years in fact they were Layla's guardians until she came of age, lovely people.
Got my hair done and I really like it, over to see Layla and Bella for lunch scrumptious homemade soup. Then we got the bus up town as I needed new shoes, bra and knickers, when we got off the heavens opened the rain came down in 'buckets', we sheltered in a shop doorway until the rain had eased then made a dash for it.
Managed to buy what I had set out for and Layla got what she wanted, went to get the bus to Layla's. Stood at the bus stop met an old friend Paul Carline good to have a chat and catch up a little.
Fergus arrived at the house in the N/W around 2115h o that wa good .
Up till around 0230h on Saturday morning attempting to finish the duffel coat for Bella almost there just a wee bit to do in the morning! Painted my toenails ready for the sandels I bought for the wedding! Tired away to bed. Goodnight.

Logs, logs, logs.

Today Fergus the tree surgeon arrived at 0800h with his two men to take down the tree in our neighbours garden. I was up early to move the car and get breakfast for Graham and moi as Graham and Joe had a big presentation today. Saw to Ruaridh who wondered what was happening with all the people in his garden. Took Ruaridh a walk in Ravelston woods had a lovely walk then on the park he met Jock and had a great rough and tumble with him.
Back at the house the guys had really got stuck into the tree, it was amazing watching them work and most of the tree was down by lunchtime thank goodness as the rain started. Lots of wood went down the shredder and is now mulch. The logs are going onto Fergus's trailer and he is taking them up to the cottage for us this weekend yes, I think we may have enough hardwood for two years.
Had lunch did some ironing made some bread, then Layla and Bella arrive, with some clothes from Primark. They spent a couple of hours here and as usual Bella amused us with her circus tricks.
Graham home early and the meeting appears to have been a success. Bella ate homemade rolls and homegrown cucumber before they left. Graham took her to the car.
Took The Wonder Dog to the park met Rosie and Cooper and the dog played a little then home.
Courgette risotto and salad for dinner tasted good.
Just made a cuppa then to bed a I am heading for an overnight stay in the Red Rose county so probably no blog. Goodnight.

blip app.

Sorry no blog yesterday rather an uneventful day travelled back from the Glen to the city! left the Glen at 1915h into Edinburgh at 2230h good journey. Big news for Sunday the blip app has been approved by Apple and is now available to download onto your iPhone.
Up with the wee fellow fed him and let him out, then as he went back to our bed I followed him and crashed out until 1000h still drizzling wish we could have either had a good rain shower or lots of sunshine! When we got up had a fry up for breakfast that tasted delicious. Then a wash before taking Ruaridh to the village beach, he didn't go into the water much today more interested in smells on the land and chasing round.
Back to the house light lunch, Layla phoned they had a great weekend camping. We tidied up then left, dinner was a chip butty with a big cuppa tasted great. To bed. Goodnight.
Monday morning awoke to the fact we had no hot water, managed to get enough for Graham to have a shower by switching on the central heating and triggering the hot water. No joy for moi back to boiling the kettle and washing my hair in the kitchen sink! Going over to visit Layla and Bella, have a walk with Ruaridh to the harbour, then to Asda to get the strawberries and sugar to make strawberry jam!
Had a lovely lunch then started on the strawberries, Bella helped by cutting them, for everyone she cut she ate one. Made the jam Layla says it is not setting will have to find something out about that. Played with Miss B with her new frisbee. The girl opposite came over with her chum and stayed a wee while. Graham came to pick me up and played with Bella and her tunnel!
Tomato sauce and pasta for dinner with salad and bread.
Extremely tired to bed. Goodnight.

Baking day!

Not really intended but for an hour or two this afternoon that is what I was busy doing. Started to make the bread right, then scones then realised the old potatoes I had brought up from Edinburgh had not as yet been turned into tattie scones, so started on those too. Anyway everything turned out fine so it was worth the effort.
Up with Ruaridh around 0800h after being fed and out into the garden he hurtled back upstairs so I followed and went back to dreamland until 1000h. Graham got up and made the early morning cuppa, tasted good.
Eventually downstairs and made breakfast which was quite leisurely. Then I phoned mum she appears OK but her ears are bothering her, she is very deaf and wax appears to gather quickly in her ears, then there is a difficulty in getting it out by syringing! Anyway he goes again on Monday to see the nurse so hope all goes well. Hoping to go down on Wednesday for an overnight stay.
Down to the village beach again lovely walk even if it was drizzling, Ruaridh had a great time, running and jumping after stones.
Back home had lunch. After doing the baking also did a little cleaning whilst Graham attempted to remove some longtime dirt from the second bedroom floor.
Watched a programme on BBC2 about Louis 14th and his building of the Palace and gardens at Versailles, interesting!
Corn on the cob, tinned salmon sandwiches and a glass of red wine for dinner. Bye.

Dozy day

A do not very much day! No blog yesterday as last evening Graham moi and Ruaridh jumped into the car and got the wee ferry over to The Isle of Skye the reason being we were going to meet people who are contributors to blipfoto.com. We met Red and Mo with the three boys who were great, and Hazel and Alan a friend of hers. Met for a meal at the Carbost Inn and a good time was had by all. Good food, good company and a drink thrown in. The room we at in wa fine and the boys could run in and out as the door was open. The boys appeared to have a great time on the beach running about, finding fossils and abseiling down some ropes they found, they were very agile in doing this. Ruaridh stayed in the car and slept but loved having a fuss made of him by all. Good drive home and to bed.
Up this morning not too early with Ruaridh, back to bed with a cuppa, Layla phoned had a chat all appears to be OK. Up for breakfast then down to the village beach, had a great time with Ruaridh who went into the water after stones then went in just for a swim, had a lovely walk.
Back home had lunch then I phoned mum she is fine the gardener was there, so only on a minute or two!
Had a lazy afternoon did some knitting.
Noodles and vegetable for dinner lovely. Just watched the film Patton enjoyed same. Going to do the dihes and make a cuppa. Goodnight.

Rain and Shine!

Left the city today to travel to the N/W as we left the weather was warm and sunny but we saw a mixture on the way here. Managed the journey in just under four hours and arrived in the Glen to sunshine. Once again the garden looked like a jungle.
Ruaridh was delighted to be back in the Highlands even at the stop at the canal he appeared to be much happier even had a paddle. When he got here we didn't see him for dust but heard squeals and saw one or two baby rabbits disappearing.
Unpacked and had a light lunch then started to attack the grass, Graham started the mowing and I did the strimming managed to do quite a large area, by the time we leave it will look great and by the time we come back it will probably look like a jungle again!
Spoke to mum she appears to be tired so hope I manage down next week, Layla is fine Bella and her go to the beach tomorrow with Layla's work!
Had a message from my good buddy Sue, her daughter Amber had to have an emergency C-section, and the baby had to have surgery, thinking of them both with big +ve vibes at this crucial time.
Leek and pea risotto for dinner with salad delicious. Just going to have toast and a cuppa then bed. Goodnight.

The sea!

Still not feeling 100% though do feel much better! Up and about usual morning routine, then had a shower and washed my hair before once again getting into the car and driving to the shore for the beach with the Wonder Dog.
Once again the weather was warm and sunny but with dark rain clouds looming, walked down to Cramond on the beach, threw lots of stones for Ruaridh which he enjoyed running after. We had a lovely walk and I got some OK photo's. Back to the car and home.
Made pancakes for Miss B and the family, did some business things then had a light lunch! Took Ruaridh for a walk to the park before I set off to get Bella, and take my Birkenstocks to be re heeled.
Got Bella she ate the grapes and pancakes I took for her, we had a lovely walk to the bus stop through the meadows, half way the heavens opened! We had on our raincoats thank goodness, Arrived home with Graham and Joe, Ruaridh hungry so Bella gave him his dinner.
We had roasted vegetables with pasta, salad and homemade bread, delicious. Layla didn't come tonight she was at a farewell party.
Bella looked at the treasures with Grandpa, did her circus tricks and sang, what a gal!
Did the dishes after Joe and Bella left then started to pack the food as we go to the cottage tomorrow for a few days. Going to bed now tired. Goodnight.

More upside than downside!

Up and about this morning saw to Ruaridh, had breakfast and then after a wash and when Graham had left, Ruaridh and moi jumped into the car and set off for the shore. The weather was warm and sunny which was a nice surprise, we went in the car due to the fact I had been more downside than upside.
Had a lovely walk down to and on the beach, hardly anyone there Ruaridh loved it, threw lots of stones into the water for him, he had a great time running after them. The clouds started to roll in so Ruaridh and moi started back to the car to go to Waitrose.
As we were driving there the monsoon rain started, oh my gosh how it rained the wipers on the car could hardly deal with the downpour, could hardly see the car in front we just crawled along!
Got the messages and came back home, dealt with some business matters then went over to the opticians to get the new frames for my spectacles. Had my lunch.
Made the roasted vegetables for tomorrow's dinner, did some cleaning changed the bed. Spoke to mum she is OK going to the choir. Booked the tickets for "The Steamie" at the end of September.
Ruaridh and moi met Graham off the bus, spoke to Layla she was OK. we are hoping to go picking raspberries and strawberries next Monday.
Vegetable and prawn paella for dinner with broccoli salad, courtesy of Graham, lovely.
Going to make a cuppa do the dishes then maybe have a shower and wash my hair. Bye.
Had a shower didn't wash my hair!

Morning cool.

Up around 0800h this morning by myself Ruaridh must be having a lie in, me still feeling 'upside down'.
Opened the door into the back garden and it was lovely to feel the morning cool air on my face, there must have been a rain shower as the paving stones were wet, the sun is just creeping in now. Ruaridh joined me I fed him and he went out, now back to bed for him. Maybe I will read the paper. Made the early morning cuppa then back to bed to read the Guardian article in it infuriate me-c'est la vie.
Felt a bit better two slices of fried bread, tomatoes and mushrooms and for the first time in days my lower abdomen was not doing a rhumba after eating! Strange bug-- nausea and lower abdominal pain feeling mince that is it!
Had a wash then out with The Wonder Dog to Ravelston woods, rather dank in the woods due to rain showers but had a lovely walk and felt more 'upside' than downside.
Back home did some knitting must get the duffel coat finished for holiday evenings. Phoned mum she is OK. Made bread.
Homemade mushroom soup for dinner followed by tinned salmon sandwiches and a cuppa.
Must crack on with the knitting tonight. Bye.

Still feeling wobbly --

--and not from drink. Up quite early this morning even fed the dog and let him into the garden. Back to bed contemplating whether I should attempt the journey down to mum's I haven't seen her in a while and that makes my decision a wee bit harder. Have breakfast still feeling 'upside down' and am concerned that I give the the bug to mum. Spoke with her and decided that for her sake and mine silly to go down.
Graham and Ruaridh went over to see Layla and Bella and go to the allotment, I stayed and read my book 'The Last Crossing' in bed till feeling mince! Felt very hungry decided to have a shower and go and get myself a tin of tomato soup and the newspaper. This bug is weird one minute you feel somewhat better, the next as though someone has hit you on the head-felt rather wobbly on my venture to the local shop!!
Had the soup with toast tasted good, felt better.
Graham and Ruaridh came home with some lovely courgettes, radishes and rocket from the allotment. Had courgettes in tomato sauce with pasta for dinner with salad lovely.
Spoke with Layla a couple of times, Miss B is fine.
Finished reading 'The Last Crossing' excellent. To bed. Goodnight.

Inter web down again!

Also feeling 'mince' so sorry no Blog' yesterday. Still no interweb so doing this on iPhone. Interweb up and running some configuration problem!
Felt really ill most of today nausea and a sore abdomen and flu like aches, pissed off as I was scheduled to go down to mum's as I haven't seen her for a while, but no way could I have made it. Graham took Ruaridh to the studio and I stayed in bed trying to feel well enough to go on the train to mum's. At 1400h I realised I would not make it down today, mum was disappointed as was I but she understood. Layla phoned to see how I was and if I wanted anything but I had all I wanted.
Felt better on and off then after a very light lunch fell asleep and awoke feeling rotten, however after a while I started to feel a little better and till do! Fingers crossed.
Decided to have my dinner and what would be would be, Graham had brought home a M&S £10 meal haddock mornay with new potatoes followed by a summer pudding. Ate it all it was lovely as of now still OK.
Have been reading a great book in bed 'The Last Crossing' by Guy Vanderhaeghe really enjoying it! Layla thinks it was book of the week on Radio 4. so is going to read it after moi. Bye.

Mum and bairns!

Decided to take Ruaridh on the cycle path to Davidsons Mains village get some cash then complete the circle back home and get my fish on the way, this is what we did. On the way we met this lovely family group picking and eating the wild raspberries that grow beside the path, put me in mind of when Layla, myself, Liz and Justine used to pick them in Aberdeenhire. We used to eat lots where they grew but always managed to take some home for raspberry jam. I used to make a big pot of soup, followed by Scottish pancakes with lots of the jam! Oh how we enjoyed it.
The family today were lovely a wee lassie of four very chatty, with her wee chum, her brother ages with Miss B and the same size, attempting to copy all his sisters words, then the nine month old in the pram who looked on in wonderment. The three older ones loved Ruaridh and patted him and stroked him, he just at there but was happy to take a wee treat off each of the bairns. Had a nice chat with mum then on my way!
Got my money and my fish a woman very kindly held on to Ruaridh's lead whilst I bought my fish!
Popped into the park on the way home and played with the ball and sticks, then home.
Layla phoned earlier today, Bella and her were going to the allotment, then on to Andy's leaving party hope they enjoyed.
Over to the dreaded supermarket for some messages then home for lunch. Made the dough for bread. Phoned mum she is fine, looking forward to seeing her on Friday!
We are having fish and rice with tomato sauce for dinner tonight, tasted delicious. Bye.

Fun day

Miss B spent the day with us and boy did we have a fun day and loved it! Layla dropped her off and first thing on the agenda was food. Graham and moi had breakfast and Bella finished hers with toast and pancakes. Then we looked in the treasure boxes whilst Graham got ready, then I got ready and did the dishes whilst Graham and Bella continued the treasure trove.
Set off for the beach at Gullane we had intended to go to Seacliff but the weather was not good enough!
On the way realised that we did not have a bucket and spade essential tools for a two and half years old at the beach! So as there were none in Gullane we headed off to North Berwick, were we managed to procure a red bucket and a blue spade which were immediately put to good use. Spent an hour or two having fun, building sandcastles and sand pies and knocking them down, digging holes to Australia with the help of Ruaridh. We found shells and feathers lots of jelly fish, then Bella and moi accompanied by The Wonder Dog went for a paddle.
After this we had to leave, Bella slept on the way home then had a late lunch of chips and beans and ate the lot! we had scrambled eggs on toast!
We then made some paper chains and Bella helped me with the dinner a mix tonight. Bella having minestrone soup, Joe having pasta and tomato sauce, the rest having fennel in tomato sauce with rice, (I think we all enjoyed our various dishes!)
Layla arrived then not long after Joe, Bella happy to see them. After dinner spent time with Miss B then about 2030h PJ's on for Miss B and home. Did the dishes must get a new dishwasher.
Had a dram now to bed. Goodnight!

Missed blog by 2 minutes!

No service available on Virgin last night so unable to do my Blog forgot until it was too late that I could do it on my iPhone! damn.
Had a lovely Sunday afternoon went up to the Cafe Lot in the Grassmarket where the Garvald centre were holding their exhibition, met up with the family and Joe's mum. Bought a piece of work influenced by the work of Ivor Cutler done by member in Layla's workshop. Met old friends and some new people, enjoyed looking at the work on view, the orange juice and seeing Miss B enjoy the snacks! Also loved the puppets made by another member of Layla's workshop, three crows, two magpies and two parrots-brilliant.
Earlier in the day had taken Ruaridh to the park and the woods but it is was too hot for him though he did have a play and enjoyed running after sticks.
In the evening for dinner had courgettes in cream with pasta and a salad, made by Graham lovely.
Did some knitting. Then the rains came down-torrential-monsoon like bouncing off everything wow!
Monday up about 0745h with the Wonder Dog, fed him and let him out into the garden. Breakfast with Graham, quick wash as I was hoping to go to the shore with Ruaridh, however although still warm the rains came down not to heavy but the weather was unsettled. Went to Ravelston woods met Barney they had a wee play, then one or two other dogs but too hot to race around.
Back home started on the phone calls does anyone want work? attempted to contact two small business people and one national company--no joy! Is this country going to hell/ on the one hand you see small shops closing due to the advent of the supermarket, however listening to the Food Programme on Radio 4 86% of people like Tesco and most of the others, there we go!
So do small business people want the work who knows!
Spoke to mum she was fine away to her lunch and then the choir!
Having leek and smoked haddock quiche with new tatties and peas for dinner. Bye

My chum is a Granny

Yesterday my old chum Sue who lives in B.C. Canada, became a Granny, her oldest daughter Amber had a wee girl, fondest Love and Peace to all over the pond!
Up quite early this morning to feed Ruaridh and let him out, back to bed but never really got back to sleep again, damn. Finished reading a good book Graham recommended to me then decided to get up. Had a fry up for breakfast I must say it tasted good. Would you believe it my new glasses frame broke, and the lens fell out, I was livid, took them to the shop nothing until Monday maybe Thursday Quick wash then into the woods with Ruaridh, who had a play with Harmony in the park. Had a good walk in the woods, then Ruaridh met Dusty the cairn in the park and they had a good run around.
Graham left to go out, I started to make the bread then sat outside and counted all the pennies and two pennies we had in the house got about £8 for Bella's holiday, booked my ticket for mum's then phoned her she appears to be bright and breezy.
Finished the bread then Ruaridh and moi set off in the car for the shore and the beach, had a lovely walk never been down here in the evening, it is a different place. Got one or two nice images. Then over to Asda found out not only are they the cheapest for fruit and vegetables their produce appears to be the best. I don't object to paying but I do expect the goods to be good quality, have found out recently on more than one occasion this is not the case!
Headed back home with my ready meal of curry, rice and nan-bread, delicious with a big spoonful of yoghurt.
Still uber warm. Graham arrived home about 2230h and ate the remainder of the ready meal!
Watched BBC 4 as they were running numerous programmes on Iran very interesting. Had a chat with Graham then to bed. Goodnight.

Small garden!

Over to see Layla and Bella today, went over in the car with Graham arrived about 1000h. We decided to go a walk quite early as the sun was getting very warm even at this time. Bella took her 'baby' in her little pram and walked all the way from their house to the harbour, quite a walk for a two years old. On the way to the harbour passed this house and they had two garden boxes outside and amongst other things were growing lettuce, peas, strawberries and some herbs. They also had flowers growing amongst the above it looked charming, and very useful.
Ruaridh had a great walk he likes to wander down to the sea I sometimes worry that if he spies a duck he may jump in, he has never done this here but has in the N/W. Anyway we all enjoyed the walk.
As Layla's trashed car is now in the garage for repairs she was supposed to have a courtesy car delivered to her today, guess what they didn't have a driver so offered to send a cab for her at 1430h-she accepted.
Before that we had lunch, then I stayed with Bella whilst Layla went for the car. We played with the animals making a field and putting them in, we then read stories then we played with the bricks making a house and a shoe shop.
Layla returned and she had kindly picked up three bags of dog food for Ruaridh saves me a journey!
By now it was tippling down so I phoned Graham and said I would drive over and pick him up. Layla and Bella walked to my car for Bella to see the car her mummy had 'borrowed'.
Home had a cuppa then made fish and chips for dinner with peas tasted great.
Not done much going to have a cuppa and maybe some knitting then bed. Bye.

Hot, Hot, Hot.

Today in the city it was hot planned to take Ruaridh to the shore but as we have to walk quite a way on pavement and the pavements were hot at 0930 we went to Ravelston woods instead. He met the two springer spaniels and had a play with Dino. Very reluctant to go into the woods for some reason, in fact I had to put his lead on and encourage him to come, once in the woods he appeared to be a wee bit perkier and had a play with his chum Barney who we met on the way out with Liz and son James just starting their walk!
Back home got the tree in the neighbours garden sorted out, they are happy to have it removed and also willing to pay a quarter of the cost, left a message for Fergus who will let us know when he can come and do the work! Had a mountain of ironing so decided to do it outside, took myself, Ruaridh, ironing board and iron and got stuck in, listening to Radio 4, all done and dusted.
Spoke with mum she is OK, looking forward to seeing her next week. Spoke with Layla they had been to the park and had a lovely time with mums and children from the playgroup. I will see them tomorrow.
Had lunch did some knitting, started the tomato sauce for dinner. Graham phoned to say he was
getting the bus home, had a shower and washed my hair before going with Ruaridh via the park to meet
Graham, met Dolores with her dog Ziggy on the way had a wee chat.
Back home had a cuppa then went for some beer as it is still hot and for the first time in many a year we are dining al fresco! Dinner pasta, tomato sauce and salad with homemade bread lovely.
Now 2030h still sat out writing this Blog fantastic. Bye.

Ice cream!

Drove first to get rid of all the bottles and newspapers we appear to accumulate in a short space of time. Popped into Waitrose to get my complaint re vegetables being foosty sorted out. Then on to visit with Layla and Bella, what a heat and so humid arrived and Miss B was in her shorts and T-shirt. As it was so warm decided to go over to the allotment as soon as possible, just as we were getting ready the rain came down, waited a wee while then set off when it was fine. On the way we stopped at La Cerise and Layla bought ice creams for the three of us, two scoops for the price of one and it is homemade delicious. Unfortunately it was a bit too much for Bella and some slipped onto the pram Ruaridh made short work of that and him cutting down on treats from today.
Very hot walking and hot at the allotment, did bits and bobs too hot to do to much, back to the house called at the playpark for a swing. Had a picnic outside and a visit from Phoebe a charming wee lassie of five going on fifty she makes me laugh but Ruaridh and her got on great! Just as we finished torrential rain again, rushed into the house with all the gear Bella and moi got soaked!
Played with the new blackboard and some new chalk that Bella had got, drawing apples and animals.
Then Graham arrived, Eve came over and we left the two girls holding Ruaridh's lead and escorting him to the car Bella keeping her bum cool nae knickers!
Went to Waitrose got some wine and a few messages, spoke to mum she is OK.
Cauliflower cheese, new potatoes and peas for dinner ovely.
Tired away to bed. Goodnight.
