Memories

Today as I had to take the car out as I needed to buy compost and a container for green 'leaves' I took Ruaridh down to the shore and beach! Had a super walk along to Cramond on the way saw a wee white shoe, for some reason made me think back 30+ years to this sad story when a toddlers body was washed up on the beach at Tayport Fife, dressed in 'continental type clothing'. After a fruitless search for relatives, the wee soul the was buried in the graveyard at Tayport. A gravestone was erected by the people of Scotland in memory of 'The Unknown Bairn', a wee boy aged between 2 and 4 years found on the beach at Tayport 22nd May 1971. 'Suffer little children to come unto me.' So poignant.
After that met a dog walker out with her pack of dogs a very pleasant woman, we had a chat then moved on. Another sunny very warm day.
Popped into the dreaded supermarket as Graham told me they have the red wine we both like! got that and my messages! Then over to get the compost and the container.
Back home made the dough for the bread, changed our bed and did two washes, sorted the garden containers then sat out and had lunch.
Did some ironing then made the bread.
Graham home had a cuppa then I took Ruaridh to the woods, lovely walk though very 'dark' atmosphere!
It started to rain managed to avoid most of it by being under the trees!
Kedgeree for dinner lovely.
Watched a documentary on BBC4 in the Fatherhood series 'Father's at War' excellent.
To bed. Goodnight.

Met Mary L and had a chat she was going to the Royal Highland Show, this is where Layla and Bella were today and had a great time. Lovely time playing with Bella on the swing, doing jigsaws, getting the bubble machine working so that lots of bubbles fly into the air, playing in the sandpit making biscuits. Alfresco Meal

This evening as it was still very warm we ate our dinner outside. The family were here and it was lovely to sit outside to eat, chat and be entertained by Bella who had us in stitches!
Up with the Wonder Dog this morning as per usual, breakfast then a quick wash and after Graham left for the studio Ruaridh and moi set off for the woods. Had a lovely walk through the woods sunspots everywhere, walked through the meadow again nostalgia kicked in. As I approached the wee pond remembered hot sunny days as a kid when we caught frogs and sticklebacks got wet through and no-one worried! Loved to see the butterflies, bees and other insects rising in the heat!
Back home made the dinner for this evening, phoned mum she is quite chirpy having found her bell she thought someone had nicked in amongst the flowers!!
Up in the loft today as when we got the new shower put in Bella's pink potty disappeared-found it in the loft. Got rid of some items from the loft today a start-yes!
Had a shower then sat outside to eat lunch.
Left to meet up with Bella she was quite tired, though we went to the play park where she had a swing and a seesaw ate two wee fairy cakes and drank her apple juice. Then we got the bus, changed to the bus for home and lo and behold Bella fell fast asleep. Managed to get off the bus poor Bella I carried her like a sack of coal!

Today was another scorcher, had a great nights sleep last night woken by the Wonder Dog at 0730h who wanted feeding and out. Back to bed for a doze then up to make breakfast for Graham and moi, before he left for work.
After Graham had left I had a wash then got ready to take the Wonder dog to the woods. Very quiet, warm and green in the woods, no-one about only met Karen with Bria who was on the lead as she was having surgery on her eye today.
Decided to try one of the 'rights of way' I heard about the other week. The meadow was amazing Ruaridh loved it, flowers in abundance and lots of bees and butterflies dashing from bloom to bloom! the 'pond' looked so different from this side.
Really enjoyed the walk, back home made the dough for the bread, then weeded the back garden ready for watering and feeding the hostas. Listened to the afternoon play on Radio 4 whilst having my lunch then I did more knitting. Made the bread.
After this as the sun was off the hostas I watered and fed all them all.

Right of way.

Have often wondered about a couple of paths leading from the woods, one says 'No Dogs' the other looks like private property. Today I learned they are both Rights of Way. Met Winifred a dog walker and she informed me that on the way it says 'No Dogs' as long as you keep the dog on a lead no-one will say anything, on the other way as long as you don't fall in the pond that is open!
Up and about breakfast, then a shower and hair wash before taking Ruaridh to the woods, good walk before the rain came down. Spoke to Christine M. hoping Thomas is out of hospital today.
Back home got stuck into sorting some business issues, then clearing lots of old papers and shredding same. Changed the bed, cleaned the lounge, did some washing, had lunch, listened to a good afternoon play 'Pilgrim- Then Fancies Flee Away' quite good. Whilst listening did a pile of ironing!

Only worked 'til 1230h today but have enjoyed doing the University exams. Did all the work that was required, then left to get the bus to pick up Ruaridh at the studio. Lovely day warm and sunny had to wait an age for a bus apparently someone had been taken ill and the driver had to deal with that.
Picked up Ruaridh and the car over to Asda did a big shop, bought extras for going up to the Glen next week. Then off to the shore and the beach.
Lots of cars and people there, had a great time on the beach managed a few stones in water rather difficult as the tide was out. Went to the lavie at Cramond then Ruaridh and moi sat and shared an ice cream. The traffic in Edinburgh was horrendous queues everywhere eventually arrived home!
Made dough for bread, then made tomato sauce for dinner, did some washing. Spoke to Layla Bella had a lovely time at playgroup.
Graham home, meeting he was at appeared to go well. Pasta and tomato sauce for dinner with broccoli salad and avocado, tomato and basil salad with bread lovely!
Watched the film 'The Red Baron' I enjoyed it amazing flying.
To bed. Goodnight.

Work-a-Day

Up at the crack of dawn well almost 0700h as I was working today. Raining as I set off for work, good to see colleagues and patients. A very hectic day as one of our colleagues had to call off work but eh what the hell life goes on.
Ate lots of lovely cake supplied by 'Pinkertons' and worked hard.
Home around 1800h after a visit to the dreaded supermarket to pick up some messages for dinner.
Had a cuppa and some cheese and oatcakes, did some ironing then had a lovely dinner of rice and veg with mushroom sauce courtesy of Graham.
Tired to bed. Goodnight.
