Sunshine all over the Place.

Awoke this morning to the sun's rays peeping around the blind, and believe it or not it has stayed like that for most of the day. Up with Ruaridh then back to bed for a wee cozy. Then made breakfast and tried to listen to Melvyn Bragg's programme on Radio 4 this week about The Oracle at Delphi anyway missed it!
Graham left and I had a wash then took the Wonder Dog for a walk to the park and the woods. Amazing day today shafts of sunlight everywhere in the woods, unlike yesterday when it was sheets of rain! Very busy in the woods and on the park, tracks closed in the woods due to tree cutting, and the grass on the park being mowed. Met up with Karen and Bria and Ruaridh had a play.
Back home busy, busy phoned mum she is fine and I am going down on Sunday for a couple of days. Made the dough for the bread, made Ruaridh's dog biscuits, did two lots of washing.
Had lunch and listened to the afternoon play on Radio 4 'A Nice little Holiday' about John Osborne (playwright) and his love life--excellent. Made the bread, then made the pastry for tonight's quiche and did the tatties.
Managed to listen to Melvyn Bragg's programme on iPlayer whilst doing the ironing! Brilliant.
Ruaridh and moi went to meet Graham off the bus via the woods, what a mess the tree cutters vehicle has left on the tracks!!
Met Graham , home cuppa and a bread roll. Made dinner leek quiche, new tatties and peas.
Doing some knitting, my Blog then going to watch Michael Woods 'Story of England' on BBC 4 which is excellent. Bye.

Had a super p.m. today with my good chum Lena, we had such a laugh her stories would make her a fortune turned into sitcoms! We had lunch at Pizza Express and sat chatting and eating in that order for three hours, oh and we drank beer! After lunch walked down to Princes St. and looked in one or two shops, after which we went to Valvona & Crolla cafe in Jenner's for cake and a coffee. Then I got the bus home.
Up later this morning the wee fellow slept until 0830h, up and about, breakfast, then got ready to take the Wonder Dog to the woods in the pouring down rain, it was coming down in sheets!!
Although it was raining so hard, we had a lovely walk, back home had a shower and washed my hair. Then got ready to take Ruaridh over to the studio, into the car and away. Stopped off at Waitrose to get some messages then on to the studio, left Ruaridh with Graham and off.
Called at Doggie Style to change Ruaridh's grooming appointment, then stopped off at Jane C's to see if she is back from Italy----she is, had a quick chat then for the bus.

Scooters

To the allotment in the early afternoon, Bella and her friend Eve took their scooters, much energy put out on these. Had a lovely walk to the allotment Ruaridh enjoyed being let off his lead on the Links and the girls spent time on the playpark! At the allotment busy picking tomatoes, the girls played, Layla got courgettes, broccoli and dug up tatties. We couldn't raid the damson tree as the people were in their garden-I think they just let them go to waste, maybe we should ask if we could have them, give them some jam! Back to Layla's on the bus, Ruaridh appears to be getting used to it.
Up and about with the Wonder Dog, back to bed for a doze then got breakfast for the two of us. After Graham had left for the studio I had a wash then made the sauce for dinner this evening, caught up on some blipping comment. John H is hoping to get the bathroom window in this week.

Took Ruaridh for a couple of walks through Kelvingrove Park a super place with lovely apartments and houses surrounding it.
Back home in about 45mins, made minestrone soup which we had for dinner with water biscuits, followed by tinned salmon sandwiches and a big cuppa-delicious.

So we went round by the fish house and the men were there with their catch! They were happy to show, the lobsters alive! crabs alive and dead close up- Bella declined to hold a bis crab. The guy told us that the tendon between the front claws had to be cut, otherwise if it pinched you boy would you know about it:) We thanked them and said we would be back to buy lobster/crab.
Back at the house had a lovely lunch of courgette and potato soup with Layla's lovely bread.

A strong Westerly wind was blowing that was in our face as we headed west to Cramond. Ruaridh had a great time chasing leaves in the wind, also running after stones I threw into the water. Only trouble being once you start throwing the stones Ruaridh thinks you should do this all day!!

Instead of pizzas for dinner this evening, Graham thought we should try calzones and delicious they were too!
Up with Ruaridh back to bed but only dozed Graham made the early cuppa and I got up about 0930h. It was raining heavily, had a wash.
Then breakfast followed veggie bacon and a fried egg in a fresh bread roll with two cups coffee lovely. Did some knitting and some cleaning in the kitchen.
Decided to go to the beach as the sun came out and it became warm, as we arrived dark clouds were amassing in the south! Had a chat with John and Auria or should I say gossip, then had a good walk on the sand/rocky beach, Ruaridh took off over the rocks ? maybe an otter!!

Razor shells-fish

Up at 0800h with the Wonder Dog saw to him then made the early morning cuppa and back to bed. However just dozed and got up at 0930h had a wash, made the bread dough, did some commenting on blip and some knitting as Graham was having a lie-in.
When he arose made porridge for breakfast also had toast as I was very hungry washed down with two cups of coffee.
Graham was busy then with work, so Ruaridh and moi pottered in the garden before getting ready to go to the beach.
Eventually sat off and the wet weather changed to sunny, decided to have mussels for dinner this evening so along the beach to collect some after having a word or two or three with John and Auria.
Met Chis with a couple who were pouring salt into the holes left by the razor fish, do this and leave it and with any luck the salt works as an irritant and the fish come onto the surface of the sand in their shells and you can collect them. Other people were also doing it. Razor fish on the menu this evening!
Climbed on the rocks and got our mussels, found a starfish for Bella, also a scallop still in its shell?? threw it back into the sea as we were not sure about eating it as the shell was open.
Back home made the bread, started to clean the mussel shells, made a late lunch of mushrooms on toast with a cuppa.
Phoned mum she is fine, had been out for her lunch.
Blipping, blogging now going to do some knitting.
Relaxing now after a delicious dinner of mussels in tomato sauce, pasta and homemade bread with a glass of Red.
Going to do some knitting. Bye

Skye

Over the bridge to Skye today truly the misty isle. Weather one minute a downpour the next brilliant sunshine breaking through.
Up with Ruaridh then back to bed and crashed out until 0930h awoken by Graham with a cuppa saying it was 1030h checked --joke haha! Got up had a shower and washed my hair, made breakfast boiled egg sandwiches and toast with two cups of coffee, then into the car we go!
Called at the vets for Ruaridh's worm tablets then into the Co-op for a few messages then set off for Elgol where the clouds were the darkest, decided to keep going and just past Torrin saw the summit of Bheinn Bla before it became shrouded in a mist. Graham decided to take some photographs so we donned wellies and wet weather gear and set off.
There was path--a climb and an hour later we stood at the bottom of these amazing rocks formed many, many years ago, they hold their own magic and mystery with the mist swirling on the summit. Water tumbling off them to form the river that we walked up besides, we passed three amazing waterfalls the roar of the water could be heard from afar, and at the second one the water crashed through a gorge twisting and swirling along. A truly lovely afternoon, needless to say Ruaridh was in his element prancing amongst the heather and eyeing the sheep on the distant hill!
Set off for home very hungry stopped at the garage for crisps, we had water.
Home ate the leftover minestrone soup and a cheese sandwich with a cuppa.
Did some knitting and caught up on my Blog.
Tomatoes, garlic and basil in oil with pasta, homemade bread and salad lovely.
