Snow and rain!

This week started with the a fine covering of snow on the hills and the field in front of the house, it was freezing. Christine our neighbour who we were not able to raise yesterday popped over for a cuppa and a piece of Christmas cake. We had a good chat mainly about what people charge in the Glen for holiday lets:) !!.
The twilight hour approached and so I just took Ruaridh for a ramble around the field which is waterlogged! Graham was out in the garden the first time in three days!
Tuesday there was a wee respite in the weather and we managed down to the beach--although it was cold and blustery we enjoyed the walk. Found some Goose barnacles that normally travel no further than the S/W coasts of England and Ireland.
Wednesday we sorted the house phoned Christine and left for the city. Poor Graham still got the cold and now a bout of sciatica! On the hill on the way out of the Glen the snow was quite deep, ruaridh and moi had a meander into the woods (he loved the snow) but our trip was cut short due to a fallen tree!
Uneventful journey arrived home safe and sound--pasta al forno for dinner which I must say tasted delicious!
Thursday, today all was quiet and peaceful as Ruaridh and I walked through the local woods, even the sun shone!
These trees were lucky, many old big trees had been uprooted and lots of branches ripped off in the winds that had surged through Edinburgh earlier in the week. Paths were blocked and many tales of devastation were being told!
Cleaned the bathroom and the hallway and stairs.
Friday drove to the office with Graham then walked Ruaridh through Victoria Park and along the cycle path to see the girls! Layla, Bella, Ruaridh and I went to the allotment to take the exsisting shed down as a new one will be arriving next week.
Managed to clear the shed getting it down was another matter as we didn't have the proper tools. So we left it for Mr Blogs to do!!
Needless to say Bella enjoyed her ride in the wheelbarrow and we managed to salvage 'one stump'! Back to theirs for lunch then a visit to Asda to get messages!
Very lazy weekend didn't get up till lunchtime both days. Enjoyed my coffee and toast in bed both days!!
Saturday saw us take the Wonder Dog to the local woods--rather late as someone asked if we would complete a survey! More trees down than I saw on Thursday. Made bread!
Sunday very lazy dozy day went to Cammo Estate great walk Ruaridh enjoyed it.
Made a soda bread--caught up with the ironing.
Watched the film noir 'The Maltese Falcon' Excellent!
