Sun and fun at the allotment.

Wednesday awoke to the sun beaming down and it was warm! Made sandwiches, coffee and juice for the wee one and as our car is in the garage Layla came to pick me up and we headed for the allotment. Spent a good hour or so trying to clear thr space for Bella to have her patch--still awaiting the 'allotment man' to come and remove the remains of the old shed !!
Layla then went to get Bella and I carried on working, Ruaridh had a great time roaming the allotments on the look 'for you know what' as Bella says --CATS!
They arrived back and we sat in the sun and had our lunch, tasted great love eating out of doors. Continued the work, now Bella has her own raised bed wonder what she wil grow ? I cleared the weeds at the side of the path then it was time to go. Graham phoned to say the car was ready so Layla dropped me off at the garage. The guys couldn't find anything wrong with the car ? why sometimes it does not start.
Over to theirs played with Bella then she went over to her chums. Graham came for me and we drove home. Leek and pea risotto for dinner with salad--lovely.
Monday up early as mum had a hospital appointment at 1010h. Everything OK with her ulcer she is to have some 'state of the art' light treatment when I can arrange an appointment. Had my lunch uneventful journey back to the city--oh the lavatories at Preston station have had an upgrade!!
Tuesday busy day catching up after my days with the memsahib. Made bread, also the dinner as the family are here this evening. Had a lovely walk through the woods with the Wonder Dog saw the Heron. Met Miss B and when we got home we had a wedding! Bella in my wedding dress she makes me laugh.
Family dinner then they left.
Thursday Ruaridh and moi down to the shore, sunny and warm lots of shells thrown into the sea many retrieved! left Ruaridh at the studio then over to visit Jane C for lunch. Lovely to see her again, lots of good food, chat and laughs.
Friday listened to Anna Ford on Desert Island Discs on Radio 4 this morning--excellent. Then to the woods with Ruaridh the early morning mist cleared and the sun shone, the wild garlic flowers have appeared, the daffodils are plentiful and swaying in the light breeze.
Also got a surprise to see one or two bluebells pushing up towards the light.
Listened to the afternoon play on Radio 4 'The Britsh Club' excellent.
Through the woods and meadowland this evening saw the Heron at the side of the pond, a coot/moorhen and a couple of mallards swimming lazily on the pond.
Cleaned the stairs and hallway.
Saturday G was away on a mission so set off to take the Wonder Dog a different walk today, he had other ideas and stopped at his usual haunt!
The haar was all around us though the sun was attempting to make an appearence.
Home and listened to the Monday afternoon play I missed and Melvyn Bragg's 'In Our Time' both excellent.
After dinner watched Terence Malick's film 'Tree of Life' excellent film portraying life as it is.
Sunday today G was off on another mission, so the wee fellow and myself went to Corstorphine Hill. Sunny and warm on the hill but we could see the haar hanging over the rooftops from the Firth of Forth round the city to Corstorphine village!
Caught up with 'Inspector Montalbano' this evening love it!

Saturday going down by train to visit mother, it is my six/seven week visit, Mothering Sunday and she has a clinic appointment on Monday. Up had a shower and washed my hair, made breakfast then set off to get my train. Graham and the Wonder Dog accompanied me as far as Stockbridge, I was surprised to see Inhouse shop had closed, now a Sainsbury's minimart!!
Met up with Phil A at the station--an old chum we had a good crack. Uneventful journey, picked up Fish and Chips at my favorite chippy in St Annes enjoyed them for dinner with mum. Watched my favorite 'Inspector Montalbano' on BBC4 excellent.
Monday the sun shone Ruaridh and moi had a lovely walk along the beach, listened to the afternoon play on Radio 4 'Taken' DCI Stone searches for missing teenager...very good!
Tuesday busy day, dog walks, making dog biscuits, making pizza's, starting the gardening. Into town this morning to get rail tickets--what the hell:)
Wednesday had a great walk along the canal with Layla and the dog before picking Miss B up. Then over to Non de Plume for a delicious lunch, met an old friend Tom great to see him again--he looks so good I didn't recognize him at first, must try and keep in touch. Over to the allotment got quite a lot of work done, before meeting Graham and home.
Thursday busy day, down to the beach with the Wonder Dog lots of running after shells thrown into the sea. Thought at one point Ruaridh had joined a dog walkers pack as he set off with them, needles to say the woman was handing out titbits-- that's our Ruaridh follow the food.
On our later walk we saw the heron at the pond again, appears to be very 'precious' about a certain spot!
This evening went to the Lyceum Theatre with my good chum Cristal to watch John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men" really enjoyed the show...excellent, acting was good and the sets were realistic.
Friday spent a lovely morning with Miss B making a surprise for mummy for Mothering Sunday we had a laugh.
Also Bella made a lovely card for the memsahib (her Great Granny) who I am going to visit tomorrow for a couple of days.
Then the rain came down, did a shop at Asda then donning wet weather gear the Wonder Dog and I had a walk along the shore, Ruaridh delighted that he found a slice of bread, luckily I managed to grab half. He has been in the dog house since:)

Another busy week!

This last week in one way and another has been incredibly busy as was last week, time flies, but fun on the way!
Monday warm sunny day after early morning frost. Ruaridh and moi set off for the beach met a lovely Border Collie puppy out with his owner, nice woman we had a good chat, the puppy was called AJ after her late husband Alex and her late father James, left with the hope we will meet again.
Kneeling on the beach to get a photo with my camera of the Wonder Dog it kept telling me I had a memory card error--no glasses to sort it, so took the photo with my iPhone, got up and who was behind me but my dear friend Chris. So as one does we sat on the beach and gossiped chatted for over an hour. Now a tad behind with work I was going to do --what the hell! Poor Bella is poorly so will go and stay with her tomorrow afternoon.
Tuesday Awoke to an early ground frost which disappeared as the sun rose above the horizon.Lovely walk in the woods the wild garlic is starting to come and the smell permeates the air. The daffodils are appearing in ones and two's soon there will be carpets of them, followed by the bluebells.
Spring is in the air and SNOW is forecast for tomorrow!!
Spent the afternoon with Miss B who is still 'under the weather' poor wee soul. However we had a nice time doing various things, and she had a lovely sleep:) had dinner with the family then left for home.
Wednesday sunny but cold at the beach today had a lovely walk with lots of shell throwing into the sea for the Wonder Dog.
Lovely afternoon with the girls reading to Bella and watching a 'Charlie and Lola'. Bella also did my nails for me this morning what a professional they look stunning
Just had a pre dinner G&T going to have an evening reading! I hope.
Thursday sunny but with a cold wind blowing from the sea as Ruaridh and moi walked along the shore at Newhaven.
Over to visit the girls early as Layla had an appointment. Bella and I had lots of fun with facepaints, you guessed it I was the 'victim'. Must say the wee one did a great job with my clowns face topped by a red wig! Layla when she arrived home said apart from the colour the hairstyle suited me:)))) Say no more.
Friday Lovely woodland walk then through the meadowland. Didn't see the Heron until we were almost on top of it! It saw us though.
Took Bella to a wee friends party, she is getting better.
Now busy busy :) getting things baked for Joe's party tomorrow.

Finished the food I had promised to make, had a shower and washed my hair then off with Ruaridh to the party.
Great time, good to see friends old and new, good chat. Plenty of food and drink a really lovely evening. Ruaridh had a great time working as a 'doggie hoover'.
