No Smoke without Fire

At 0600 on Sunday 26th March the no smoking ban will become operational in Scotland. This will not affect me until Monday morning when I go to work at a hospital in the Lothian region where and this is open to debate not only will patients and staff not be allowed to smoke in a semi or enclosed space but also in the hospital grounds. One poster definitely states semi or enclosed space, whilst a policy document also adds the grounds bit. Not heard much from staff (ones I have been working with don't smoke) patients who smoke have been quite vociferous about this issue and state if they cannot have a fag they might not be able to come and help with the exams! Monday morning will be interesting! Funnily enough colleagues who have never smoked appear to have a sympathy for the ones who do, as one person said today Big Brother gets Bigger!
