May Flowers

On a walk through the forests noticed my first mayflower of this year in bloom. Although we are halfway through the month of May they appear to be quite scarce. Took me back to when we were kids, I'm sure then the fields used to be full of them or is this just childhood memory? I do remember days of walking through fields that were full of wild flowers, they rubbed against bare legs, and sandels somehow always got damp. Back then we used to pick them, and stuck in a jam jar they adorned many a table.
Working most days at the moment in the greenhouse and garden, leeks and courgettes going down for Layla's allotment this week. Lovely evening blue sky and sunny, but we can expect low temperatures overnight, so still have to put fleece over the plants in the greenhouse-brrr. Photograph courtesy of Graham.
