Eskbank

Today I went to visit my chum Lena who lives out at Eskbank. The day was damp and humid, as I travelled out from the city centre by bus. I knew by the changes made on the road out that it had been a long time since I had driven to this area, the roundabout at Cameron Toll had gone, to be replaced by traffic lights. Lena met me at the bus stop, and we went back to the house, her sister Kitty and brother-in-law Charlie arrived it was good to meet with them as I could now put faces to names. The two women were having their hair done by a young woman called Rosalind, and it turned out we had mutual friends.
The deck at the back of the house was a mass of colour from all the plants and flowers, and their brightness was not diminished by the dreary weather. Had a good time chatting with Lena and her hubby Jim when he returned from work, stayed for dinner then they drove me home, work tomorrow.
