Onions

Overslept a bit today, last night we were attempting to get Ruaridh to sleep downstairs in his own wee bed, rather than strolling up to ours around 0200 hours and taking over! Peace reigned until 0330 hours when the whimpering started. Managed to ignore most of it, sleeping on and off until 0600 hours when we let him up, you would have thought he hadn't seen us in years, we all snuggled down hence the late awakening.
Received a postcard from our neighbour here in the Glen, never been out of the United Kingdom before, where does she go for her first trip abroad-New Zealand, and she is loving it. Made Graham and me think of going back again, travel safely Christine.
Mixed weather day, very warm when sun out, freezing cold in the hail and sleet showers, and the north west wind. Decided in a moment of sunshine to plant my onions. Had started to get the raised bed ready yesterday, so finished it today turning over, hoeing and raking the soil in sun, sleet and hail. Some debate about how many inches between each onion and how many between the rows, eventually settled on 4 inches and 10 inches respectively, see photograph yes that is an onion! Will report on their activity at intervals through the Blog.
