"Lifting" the Beetroot

Today was a really good day, weather wise in our part of the world we had a mist or haar but still quite warm. Graham was away early to the studio for a meeting, so Ruaridh and moi snoozed until 0900 hpurs when Layla telephoned. Pissed off this am as we had booked a wee break for Layla and Joe down the coast, the woman telephoned this morning to say she had booked them in for the wrong weekend, Bah ! Had a shower and washed my hair, light breakfast, then the wee dog and moi were off to meet Layla down at the shore. Picking up amazing sandwiches from Cafe Citron our local gathering place, which is always packed full of people.
We walked along the cycle path and got to the shore quickly, Layla arrived within minutes and we set off along the promenade. We met lots of dogs and Ruaridh enjoyed playing with them, especially a minature Schnauzer called Scamp they had a great time together
Decided we must go as we had to go to Layla's allotment, as she wanted to gather apples to make apple jelly, and lift some carrots and beetroots. Layla grows the best beetroots and parsnips in "Old Reekie", I was delighted she gave me beetroots today and at Christmas time hopefully we will get the parsnips!
Went back to her flat had super lunch of the sandwiches and coffee, then met Joe and Graham at the new house,
wow it looks fandabby, watch this space as I take you from room to room in the future.
Just going to have dinner veggie chili, rice, salad and yoghurt. Bye-Bye!
